2 · Activation
Get an activation code
The code will be sent to the email address you enter. This address is not a login or your SECRET identity.
Your email address is used only to deliver the activation code and is not stored in the database in plaintext. It is not your SECRET ID and does not create a messenger account. To protect against abuse, the system keeps only a technical HMAC digest of the address. After requesting a code, also check your SPAM folder. Requests are rate-limited for security.

Enter the code in the app. Your messenger identity is your SECRET ID, not your email address.
